Headaches

You don’t have to live with headaches

Has a headache ever interrupted your day? Head pain, achiness, tightness in the neck and/or shoulder(s), pounding, throbbing, and more symptoms burden about 45 million Americans who suffer from headaches (NINDS). While headaches are common, they are not normal. There are ways to prevent, ease and even rid yourself of headaches. Understanding headaches helps to eliminate them.

Headache Types

There are multiple types of headaches. The most common types of headaches are tension headaches and migraine headaches. In general, tension headaches are caused by tightness in the muscles of the head and neck, while migraines are thought to be caused by temporary interruptions in the body’s ability to communicate with itself. Migraine headaches are typically triggered by things like the food and drinks we intake, emotional and physical stressors, and stimuli such as noise and lights. When the body is not in its normal balance, these triggers are more likely to cause symptoms like headaches.

Body Balance

A balanced body helps not only relieve symptoms such as headaches, but it also helps to prevent the effects of stressful triggers on the body. There’s a simple way to get the body in better balance naturally. Chiropractic care uses natural, low invasive methods for addressing the areas stimulating the symptoms of headaches. Research shown in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT) demonstrates that chiropractic care is a drugless approach that improves conditions, including headaches and migraines. Chiropractic care helps by improving the structure and function of neuro-muscular-skeletal components contributing to headaches. Many patients tell us they didn't realize how bad their headaches really were.  Treatment has allowed them to do more of the things they enjoy with the people they care about. Do you really want to keep living in pain? The choice is yours. Get help today and live a happier and healthier life.
