Lower Back Pain

An Unstable Spinal Area

4 out of 5 people have lower back pain at least once in their lives and 10% have lower back pain on a regular basis. Why is the lower back so susceptible to injury? It is an unstable area of the spine, unlike the mid back, which has support from the ribs.

Prone to Injury

If the lower back is misaligned, picking something up or even just bending down can cause a lower back injury. Left untreated, recent studies show that the pain may go away for a while, but will often return. Lower back pain should be taken seriously, especially if it is recurring. Chiropractors are experts at diagnosing lower back pain and will be your best bet for relieving misalignment and strained musculature.

Causes of Lower Back Pain

  • Misaligned spine

  • Disc herniation

  • Sciatica

  • Sprain / Strain Injuries

  • Arthritis

  • And even more serious problems …

Low Back Pain Relief

Chiropractic has been shown to be the best lower back pain treatment. In the Consumer’s Report for low back pain (May, 2009), the most sought after treatment for lower back pain was chiropractic. Studies have shown again and again that long- term results of chiropractic are better than other treatments, which tend to treat the symptoms. Chiropractic, however, focuses on correcting the problem that is causing the symptoms. At Delaware Injury Care, we use chiropractic in conjunction our other modalities, dry hydrotherapy massage and rehabilitation to yield the best results.
