Ouch! My butt hurts.

I remember when my butt, thigh and leg hurt so bad I could hardly move. I tried to stand up and the pain was so bad to move and uncomfortable to be still. If I tried to turn in the bed, the pain was with me. When I tried to go to the bathroom, the pain was with me. I was in so much pain, I didn’t want to be touched and I really didn’t want to move. It was breathtaking and it went down my buttock and down the back of my thigh/leg. Thankfully, I’d been helped in the past with other issues like allergies, menstrual cramps, headaches and more with chiropractic care. I knew I needed to see a health care professional that understood what I was experiencing. As I’ve done in the past, I went to a chiropractor who mixed chiropractic, physiotherapeutic and functional rehab and I was able to get the help that I needed.

If you’ve ever been in so much pain it interfered with your work, your time with family/friends, hobbies and even your rest, you can relate to the experience that I and many others felt. Pain going into the buttock and down the leg is a characteristic sign of sciatica. It saddens me to hear people say that their sciatica is acting up again or giving them trouble. It doesn’t have to keep coming back. I’ve gotten help with this issue and, for almost ten years now, have been able to help others with it as well.

How do I and others I work with help? We help by understanding and addressing the causes of sciatica.

There are actually different causes of sciatica with different patients. The sciatic nerve goes from the low back, into the buttock and hip regions, and has branches going down the legs all the way to the feet. Common causes of sciatica include herniated discs, muscle spasms, spinal misalignments and pregnancy. When we evaluate patients we first determine what is causing their sciatic pain. Then we develop an individualized plan that will correct or stabilize the specific cause allowing you to enjoy life and its many moments. While we’ve also helped plenty patients who didn’t get rid of their problem with surgery, we encourage you to use our natural, much less invasive methods first. Studies show that more than 80% of patients with sciatica can recover without surgical intervention. Plus, we have tools like Class IV laser and dry hydrotherapy that aid us in treatment with great results. It’s time to say goodbye to that literal pain in your butt and get the help that has benefited myself and many others for years.
